Imagineering Finishing Technologies, a leader in the metal finishing industry, was contracted by the U.S. Military to apply a pre-treatment to military vehicle armor. This project required a coating that was environmentally friendly as well as one that provided a strong base for paint bonding. This Alodine 5200 titanium-based conversion coating was chromate free, making it a next-generation green coating that reduces the risk of health issues, and was a suitable product to use prior to application of a chemical agent resistant coating paint system.
To meet the needs of this client, we built a facility to accommodate the newest green technologies. We support the U.S. Military and tier 1 suppliers with this coating process on aluminum and other light metal alloy components. Our quality controls include coating weight testing, adhesion testing, and 240 hour salt spray testing of painted test coupons to ensure that all components meet our high standards. We also work to tightest tolerances of .0001″.
